Few words about me
Growing up, knowledge was always something I was taught to strive for. Every chance I get to learn something new, I embrace with enthusiasm. I will update this page not only with some of my past work, but also with current projects as I take them on. I’ll also update the blog with tips and tricks in hopes that somebody, somewhere, somehow will learn from my mistakes and be better at what they do.
A lot of words about me (aka: My Back Story)
::begin flashback montage now::
During the Junior and Senior years of high school I went to School for Advanced Studies, a dual-enrollment program at Miami Dade College which allowed me to finish all of the credits required to receive a Pre-Bachelor of Arts degree with emphasis in Computer Science. Graduating with an Associates degree a week before graduating from high school was one of the proudest moments in my life.
Starting off my post-high-school higher education career at Florida International University with Computer Science courses (Java, C++, etc), I soon changed to Information Technology (fixing & maintaining computer) as it piqued my interest more. I graduated in 2005 with a BS in Information Technology, as well as two minors (Religious Studies & Photography).
Offered a job the first day I set foot on campus in 2000, I worked as the IT Coordinator and Web Master for the Office of Admissions throughout my time at FIU. After graduating with a BS in Information Technology, I accepted a full-time position which I held for a year until I decided to go back to school. My time there helped me to hone my patience and people skills, dealing not only with incoming students, but with the recruiters and other workers in the office.
After working in IT for a few years, I decided to take a creative route with my life. Moving to Orlando, I attended Full Sail University, where i learned how to flex muscles I didn’t even know I had. Muscles called audio engineering, rendered and real-time 3D (3ds Max), video production (Final Cut Pro), print design (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), HTML design & development, PHP & MySQL programming, and Flash & ActionScript 2.0. Except for the large student loan I now have looming over me (loan sharks and hustlers must take lessons from Sallie Mae), I have no regrets and loved every second of my time there.
After attending a presentation by the CEO at Full Sail, I fell in love with Monster Media, an multimedia marketing Orlando company specializing in digital and interactive activations. I applied for and accepted a job as an IT Manager for them. Working there I learned much in the field of IT, as well as became their webmaster and created some custom PHP web apps for interoffice use. As their webmaster, I had the opportunity to create a completely custom, dynamic back-end for their corporate website entirely from scratch using PHP and MySQL.
At the end of 2011, I was offered a promotion to become the head of the newly developed System Administration department at Monster Media. I took the job and soon learned the ins and outs of being a manager. I was able to adapt to my new position and spent almost two years successfully managing up to 5 employees under my tutelage. We were in charge of remotely monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining about 150-200 systems located throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Italy.
Moving back down to South Florida, I spent all of 2013 working for NGM Marketing, LLC as their Senior Web Developer. During my time there, I was in charge of maintaining and updating various company websites, building their corporate website, as well as helping them launch multiple sites for different business ventures, including a full-fledged web app developed using CakePHP and Bootstrap.
Since 2014 I have been working as a Front End Developer in the UI/UX department of Newsmax Media, LLC, a West Palm Beach based independent news service. For them I have learned how to utilize the Kentico CMS back end software, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and more.

“Awesome work. Great attitude. A real pleasure to work with.”
“Easing my computer headaches for over 10 years.”
Here I will write about current projects I’m working on, as well as past projects that wouldn’t fill out a full post in the My Work section of this site. For the time being, they’re simple listings, but I’ll soon include code snippets and/or links to a code repository.

I was approached by a doctor’s office to request I create a simple way for their patients to fill out forms. I wrote a simple PHP form which when the patient submitted, would input their information into a PDF and send this via email to the doctor’s office.
